What you will be doing
The successful candidate will draw upon their experience to support gas turbine programs including customer engine and associated hardware field issues. You will be responsible for Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) support; assessing hardware issues per engine manual limits and procedures, coordinating responses with the design engineering team and maintenance shops, and recommending courses of action. This includes regular status updates with the entire LCE team and customer communications. You will also be the face of Quest to your customers. Through listening to customer challenges, and building on your previous experiences, you will find creative approaches that will solve their most difficult engineering problems.
- Roles & Responsibilities:Respond to reported field issues with gas turbine engines and associated hardware by analyzing product specifications, performance requirements, and existing engine manual requirements.
- Create and/or evaluate Departure Records for conditions which do not meet engine manual requirements and complete required documentation by applying engineering principles and Industry standards, and generating reports, procedures or change proposals.
- Coordinate assessments with the Design Team/hardware owners as appropriate; understand impacts on part durability and engine performance as well as regulatory requirements and customer commitments.
- Create Publication Change Requests to revise engine manuals related to inspections, field limits, existing and proposed repair procedures, etc.
- Overall lead on external Customer Communication.
- Leads technical execution of field support applying established processes. Drives decisions on field issues, identifying technical risks and abatements.
- Lead and influence teams without direct reporting.
- Maintains open and clear communications between all execution organizations, internal and external, and customer representatives.
- Drives prioritization of technical needs for a given engine or associated component, cross functional coordination.
- Has or develops deep knowledge of the engine model characteristics, design, configuration, and history.
- Produces and presents summaries and technical presentations on specific field issues and components.
- Project Management – Tracks/allocates/manages support within defined work scope and budget and maintains deliverable status.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
Required Skills
We’re excited to talk to you if your qualifications meet the following criteria:
• 4-8 years of experience in the mechanical design of Gas-turbine or Turbo-machinery components
• BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an accredited university
• • Ability to easily interpret technical drawings with understanding of GD&T
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
• Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
• Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
• Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
• Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
• Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
• Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
• Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
