The Role
The Integrated Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving detailed project schedules for engineering design changes or field issues. The scheduler will work closely with cross-functional project teams to create, refine, and update Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. The role will involve supporting audit preparations, providing guidance on schedule management best practices, and contributing to the client goals by using the published Project Schedule Management Standards and toolkit. The scheduler will play a critical role in driving schedule adherence and supporting the successful execution of projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using project management tools.
- Create standard project plans for engineering design change projects and field issues, including tasks, durations, resource requirements, and dependencies.
- Conduct Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) workshops to outline deliverables.
- Regularly update project schedules with actual progress, and manage project changes and re-baselining as needed.
- Perform schedule risk assessments, identify potential delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on critical path and key milestones, providing insights and recommendations to support project decision-making.
- Engage with the Project Manager to align on standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support lean initiatives such as Kaizen and Value Stream Analysis to improve scheduling processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of Project Schedule Management Standards.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment and effective communication.
- Generate and present schedule-related reports and metrics to project stakeholders.
Required Skills:
We’re excited to talk to you if your qualifications meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (or a high school diploma/GED with minimum of 4+ years of relevant scheduling experience)
- 2+ years of experience in project schedule management.
- Deep working knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Open Plan, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the Aerospace/Aircraft Engines industry.
- PMP, CAPM or similar certification.
- Experience with Disciplined Agile Delivery, DASM or DASSM certification.
- Experience with Clarity or other advanced scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with engineering processes, including Engineering Change Processes, Customer Gated Review Processes, and Design Review Processes.
- Experience with LEAN Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methods.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly office environments, occasional shop floor involvement.
- Independence/work without direct supervision
- Substantial amounts of video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily regulated industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8-hour days plus lunch / 40-hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM.
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
