The Role:
Previous experience in Aircraft Design is required for this exciting role as a CNC Programmer! What you will be doing:
- Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
- Provides MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
- Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist as required.
- Develops, Creates and Maintains Tooling/Fixture definition for manufacturing operations for all media types including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
- Executes creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for
- Numerical Controlled equipment.
- Responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining Loft MCAD models, flat patterns and associated digital tooling programs.
- Working knowledge of NC Programming, Loft, Engineering, Tool Design,
- Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures.
- Skilled in the concept related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
- Supports producibility assessments when requested.
- Maintains records and schedules of work assigned.
- Will meet established company cost control standards, schedule and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
- Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
- Execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required to communicate and interact between internal and external customers.
- Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, mentor and check/validate Production Engineering work.
- Required to attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by management to remain current with technological advancements.
Qualifications
- BS mechanical engineering.
- 8+ years relevant experience with tilt rotor aircraft
- Knowledge of GD&T basics
- Proficient in CATIA v6
Preferred:
3Dx experience, Airframe/Aerostructure
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone, video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
- US Citizen is required due to nature of work
